Chile’s Golosa La Orquesta churns out high-energy, transcendent performances that inject contemporary styles and approaches into traditional Latin American rhythms. A unique combination of acoustic instruments and effect-laden electric guitars and MIDI keyboard alongside virtuosic jazz improvisation, they fuse tango, chachachá, milonga, waltz, bolero, with jazz, rock, pop and much more to create a music of celebration and conscience that will both move you and make you move.

Nominated for a Pulsar Award (Chile’s JUNOs) and veterans of WOMAD Chile, the band has released two studio albums, one live album, and toured across Europe and Canada. Their music brings a conscious and energetic message, reflecting on issues including the environmental and social crises that Latin America, and Chile in particular, suffers today. But there is more than a message, particularly in their live experience, which feeds off of audience interaction, and gives back the high energy rooted in the folkloric traditions from their Andean home at the southern tip of South America –huayno, festejo, and the sounds of Carnaval – while tapping into both the power of rock and the freedom of jazz.
