
Rachel Therrien is an innovative trumpet and flugelhorn player, composer and music producer working between New York City and Montreal. She is considered one of the most promising jazz musicians of her generation (Downbeat, All About Jazz, Radio-Canada), internationally lauded for her personal touch and the many influences she incorporates from the worlds of traditional jazz, Afro-Latin jazz and global music. Rachel now has six recordings under her name – with many more to come! The most recent (2023) is MI HOGAR, an exquisite Latin jazz album recorded in New York City, Montreal and Toronto with 20+ musicians. Her previous (2022) ensemble release, VENA, garnered 2 nominations for Jazz Album of the Year at the ADISQ and the JUNOs, and received 4 stars from Downbeat. Rachel Therrien continues to be a major role model for emerging musicians on the Montreal jazz scene.
