AFROTRONIX

Ladama is a group of four women, virtuosic musicians, and educators — Lara Klaus, Daniela Serna, Mafer Bandola and Sara Lucas—each from a different country and culture of the Americas (Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela and the United States) who are sisters in song, rhythm and spirit. The ensemble utilizes traditional and non-traditional instruments to produce Latin Alternative music, which is in turns nimble and funky, a rollicking celebration of rhythmic give-and-take. Lithe melodies twist around cacophonous percussion, four voices harmonizing in joyous bursts. The art of Ladama proves that borders are meaningless, transporting us to a future where the world communicates across continents and cultures, through sound and story.
