Just as location, location, location is everything in real estate, being at the right place at the right time can really boost your music career. Medellin Colombia-based Byron Sánchez was fortunate to be part of the scene when jazz was happening in Boston (LMS- Latin Minor Studies at Berklee), Argentina (La Plata Argentina), Chile (Arica Parinacota Jazz International Festival) and elsewhere. As one of his country’s foremost jazz artists who also has an international reputation, Byron draws on his Colombian roots as well as the work of Miles Davis (in the 1960-1965 period) and the sensibilities of New York contemporary jazz. With his quartet BS4TO, he has released three live recording sessions that listeners on an exquisite sound tour: Expresión (2011), Entre Líneas (2014) and Cuarteto (2016). A new album goes on sale later this year.
